How this works?
You already have Typeface.js, SIFr and Cufón so why do we need a new web font rendering system? Well on execution typeface.js and Cufón require converting a regular font to an internal format, which doesn't work for a large number of fonts. They rely on much newer browsers and render Canvas (VML in Internet Explorer). The benefit unlike SIFR is you dont have to load additional flash files, making the loadtime significantly faster.
Problem is, not everyone wants to manage the uploading/compiling of fonts, and going through a difficult process to try and test the fonts they want in their web projects.
Enter FontMeUp. FontMeUp is designed to provide a management utlilty to host and serve fonts to your website(s).
